Our Founder

Greetings, I'm Linette Cottrell, the Founder of Embracing Black Joy (EBJ). I am a sacred healing geek! I've spent decades exploring healing modalities and self-help practices as I struggled through my personal healing journey. My goal now, is to spare fellow sisters the burden of sifting through years of research by offering solutions I've found firsthand to be effective and lasting. 

I am passionate about sharing what I've learned with other Black women. I want you to benefit from my experience, knowledge, and curation of the best processes out there, and how I've added some black girl magic to them to suit our unique walks through life.

I am a Certified Breathwork practitioner, Meditation instruction, and also Certified as a Spiritual Warrior through a program led by Life Coach Iyanla Vanzant.

Supporting the healing journeys of Black women and sharing streamlined processes that are culturally relevant is why I created EBJ. Whether it's trauma from childhood, or oppressions and stress from everyday living, your healing is important to me! For it is my deep belief that a world that heals black women, is a world worth living in!
